In Chinese culture, deer symbolize prosperity, good luck, and longevity. The word for deer (lù) sounds similar to the word for "wealth" (cáifù) making it a powerful emblem of lù. Deer are also associated with the mythical figure Shou Xing, the god of longevity, further enhancing their status as symbols of a long and prosperous life.
